Southern Smothered Potatoes
Comfort Food at Its Finest
Tender potatoes, sweet onions, butter, and Southern seasonings combine to create one of the South's favorite side dishes.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds Irish potatoes ( Red)
- 1 large sweet onion, sliced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons TruLee All Purpose Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon TruLee Grandma's Pot Veggie Seasoning
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh parsley (optional)
Directions
- Slice potatoes into ¼-inch rounds.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet.
- Add onions and cook until soft.
- Add potatoes and seasonings.
- Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook uncovered for the last 5 minutes to lightly brown the potatoes.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
